About The Event
Feeding off last years success -- 350+ participants raising over $37,000-- our second annual “RUMC 5K RUN/WALK” will take place Saturday, September 8th 2018.
Richmond University Medical Center brings together our employees, family, friends and community members to help children become more comfortable when in a traumatic setting with state-of-the-art technology and cutting edge equipment. All proceeds will go to the pediatric unit in the new Emergency Department.
About VITAL: Our Campaign to Transform Emergency Care
The Richmond University Medical Center Emergency Department is housed in a 30-plus-year-old building designed to accommodate 22,000 patients per year with average care needs. Today, the Emergency Department accommodates an average of 65,000 patients per year with much higher standards.
The Plan to Transform
Through your generosity, Vital: Our Campaign to Transform Emergency Care will provide the access and resources Staten Island desperately needs. Together, we will expand, enhance and secure the future of emergency care right here in our community.
A Time for Action
Advancing on the momentum of community support, the Medical Center is moving forward to build a new Emergency Department. The estimated $62 million project will feature a new, larger facility as well as state-of-the-art technology. Staten Islanders will be able to depend on the Richmond University Medical Center Emergency Department for vital care, compassion and hope. Through this capital campaign we will provide the leverage needed to obtain optimal financing for the balance of the project cost.
To date, our private philanthropy money raised is over $11.5 million and going strong! This success is a testament to the dedication of our community donors, who recognize the importance of this new facility. They understand that each contribution is an investment in the health of their loved ones and a step toward ensuring that everyone has access to emergency care.
